Part of the Dakota McGovern website includes an ongoing webinar series, with a focus on strategy discussions for members of local organizations and not-for-profits. These events are open to the public and are by donation. The goal is to discuss ideas that do not commonly come up within professional settings. The webinars are for people who want to openly discuss big-picture topics about the not-for-profit sector or community leadership. Instead of pragmatism and short-term thinking, this is a space for radical, thoughtful, and original ideas.
Strategy is not just a powerful professional tool—it’s invaluable on a personal level as well. My goal is to help people from all walks of life explore how they can empower themselves to make meaningful personal transformations. By featuring experts across various fields, I aim to highlight how big-picture strategy can inspire and drive change.
People of all backgrounds are welcome to attend, and anyone can reach out beforehand with accessibility requests. In order to create a safe space for participants, it is asked that respectful dialogue be maintained. The organizer(s) have complete creative control of the webinar series and reserve the right to block or remove attendees if needed.
Similarly, we request that everyone: participants, attendees, viewers, or community members recognize that individual speakers or guests and their opinions do not reflect the views of the webinar attendees or organizer(s). This webinar series is dedicated to uncovering uncomfortable truths, and within reason, it will discuss controversial topics with guests who may engage in objectionable behaviour outside of the webinar setting. Embracing nuance and having constructive disagreements, no matter how passionate is crucial for personal and collective development.
